A work to be displayed on a smartphone in loop, and attached to an (exhibition space) wall.

With real footage of dancing bodies, young, old, queer, regulated and controlled or in a state of hallucinatory ecstasy, the video is a meditation, and visual poem on our place in the cosmos, in the face of the Theory of the Dead Universe, which has led to some debate on its origins. It has been suggested that the universe's natural state is, and always has been death, and that life is nothing but an anomaly.

This experimental film is a visual and narrative poem, where stylised footage of American rodeos and Portuguese fairgrounds, offers a meditation on the struggles and beauty of boundless artistic creation, of sexual expression at a time of encroaching repression, and the possibility of cosmic redemption. Its slowed-down, lascivious images, and hymnal soundtrack, evoke a place between the sacred and ambiguously sacrilegious.
